Zur Earthquake of 18 November 1226, Ms6.5
On Nov. 18, 1226, an earthquake of magnitude Ms=6.5 occurred in Zur, Kurdistan province of Iran which was widely felt in Iran and Iraq. The epicenter of the earthquake was assessed to be located at 35.3N and 46E. The event destroyed six castles and many villages in the macroseismic region. The earthquake was followed by several aftershocks during next month.
